Before your appointment
To ensure a flawless and long-lasting spray tan, please follow these preparation instructions:
Exfoliate Your Skin:
Exfoliate your entire body 24 hours before your appointment to remove dead skin cells. Use a gentle exfoliating scrub or mitt, paying extra attention to dry areas like elbows, knees, and ankles.
Shave or Wax in Advance:
Shave or wax at least 24 hours before your appointment to avoid any irritation. This will also help the tan apply evenly.
Avoid Lotions and Oils:
On the day of your appointment, do not apply any lotions, oils, or moisturisers as these can create a barrier and affect the absorption of the spray tan solution.
Skip Makeup and Deodorant:
Come to your appointment with clean, makeup-free skin. Avoid using deodorant or perfume, as these can interfere with the tanning solution.
Wear Loose, Dark Clothing:
Wear loose, dark clothing and flip-flops or sandals to your appointment. Tight clothing can rub off the spray tan, and dark colors are less likely to show any initial bronzer.
Remove Jewelry:
Remove all jewelry, including rings, necklaces, and bracelets, to ensure an even tan application.
Nail Care:
If you plan to get a manicure or pedicure, do so before your spray tan appointment. The water and products used during these treatments can strip your tan.
Hydrate Your Skin:
While avoiding lotions on the day of your appointment, keep your skin well-hydrated in the days leading up to your spray tan. Drink plenty of water and use a moisturizer until the day before your appointment.
Plan for Aftercare:
Plan to avoid water, sweating, and any activities that could cause you to get wet for at least 6-8 hours after your spray tan. This allows the solution to develop properly.
Consultation:
Be prepared to discuss your desired tan level with your technician. They can help you choose the right shade and provide personalized advice.
Following these steps will help ensure you achieve a beautiful, even, and long-lasting spray tan. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us before your appointment.
After your appointment
To ensure your spray tan lasts as long as possible and looks its best, please follow these aftercare instructions:
Avoid Water:
Do not shower, swim, or engage in any activity that involves water for at least 6-8 hours after your spray tan (unless you have had an express tan and have been advised otherwise). This allows the tanning solution to fully develop and adhere to your skin.
Avoid Sweating:
Refrain from strenuous exercise or activities that cause heavy sweating for the first 24 hours after your spray tan. Excessive sweating can cause the tan to streak or fade unevenly.
Use Gentle Products:
When you do shower, use a mild, sulfate-free body wash and avoid exfoliating products. Harsh soaps or scrubs can strip the tan and cause it to fade more quickly.
Pat Dry:
Gently pat your skin dry with a towel after bathing or showering. Avoid rubbing your skin, which can cause the tan to fade unevenly.
Moisturise Regularly:
Apply a hydrating, alcohol-free moisturizer twice daily to keep your skin soft and to help prolong the life of your tan. Focus on areas prone to dryness like elbows, knees, and feet.
Avoid Chlorine:
Stay away from chlorine and saltwater pools for at least a week after your spray tan, as these can accelerate fading and affect the color. Chlorine will strip your tan
Avoid Exfoliation:
Do not exfoliate your skin for at least a week after your spray tan. Exfoliation can remove the tan and cause it to fade unevenly.
Wear Loose Clothing:
Opt for loose-fitting, dark clothing in the days following your spray tan to avoid friction that can disrupt the evenness of your tan.
Avoid Skin Treatments:
Delay any skin treatments, such as facials or peels, for at least a week after your spray tan. These treatments can affect the appearance and longevity of your tan.
Consult Your Technician:
If you have any concerns or experience any unusual reactions, contact your technician for advice.
By following these aftercare instructions, you can ensure your spray tan remains vibrant and lasts as long as possible. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please reach out to us.
